Lindi preparing for her baptism, dressed in white with her dad, who had the honor of baptizing her!
Afterwards, we had a family gathering in honor of our Lindi. :) So many of our loved ones came to our home and celebrated this special day. It was wonderful to spend time with them! Enjoy the pics below!
Second, the "first anniversary" of my diagnosis was also a big event, though I am grateful it was on the same day as Lindi's baptism, because it became a wonderful celebration, when it could have been a difficult reflection. Somewhat in honor of the event, I had a physical transformation, as my dear friend, Becky Sevy, helped me change my look by cutting off my hair!
"Before" the cut. You can see the length of my new hair vs my "old" hair.
Albeit staged for this purpose, I actually walked by mirrors a few times and found all my little hairs sticking out everywhere. Definitely time for a change!
My "regrowth" hair from when they shaved my head for surgeries, was really starting to get in the way, so my friend Melanie Taylor encouraged me to be bold, crazy and do something I wouldn't otherwise have done...cut it all off! So, I did it! For me, this was a big step. I have spent the last year using the hair I had left to cover up the funny little hairs growing back in, but now all my hair is the same length and it feels healthier and better than before. I love it! :)
Truly, it feels like a fresh start for me, a new "year", a new look and more energy than I have had in ages. Life is so good! Enjoy the fun photos!
Me, Lindi and Tolan on Lindi's special day!
Aunt Celia Brown and Rheanna getting some treats.
Martin Merx, Tolan's cousin. I think he wants to be Superman. He could, too, he'd be perfect! :)
A four generation picture with me, my kids, my mom and my grandparents Ketchum. I love this picture and will cherish it forever! I am so glad they were there for Lindi's big day!

Congrats Lindi! I ended up having to work otherwise we would have been there for sure. I like your hair short! I don't think I've ever seen it like that. And I am seeing a huge difference in your face. Keep up the good recovery!!!
Fun pictures!! You've come a long way in a year. That's a lot to celebrate. We love you all. I'm still having a hard time coming to grips with our kids being 8 already. Seems like they were babies on the couch at the cabin not so long ago. Lindi is such a cute fun little lady. Congratulations. We are proud of you Lindi!!
I LOVE your haircut! You look absolutely darling! Huge milestone for you - congrats!
What a fun day all around for everyone. Congrats to Lindi. What a sweet, cute girl she is! And once again, your cut looks so great on you :)

Congratulations Lindi to reaching another milestone in her life. We are proud of her. Seemed like yesterday my teenagers were turning 8 and baptized and we look forward to Savannah's in two years...for Lindi, savor every moment of your special day! What a wonderful celebration with family and friends-everyone is looking fabulous in the pictures. Mahalo for sharing!
congrats to Lindi! Big day! And lovely that your fam. could be there to help celebrate...
Looks like you had a great day. I'm sad I missed your parents and all that. It seems like life is flying by so fast. Tell Lindy congrats for me.
And I love your new hair style.
Cute, cute hair!
Thanks for your continued positive outlook. We've had a crazy year since I last wrote to you a long time ago. My husband lost his job at the end of February. He is still Bishop as I've mentioned before, so life is busy. But, we finally had our baby this week, so all the misery of pregnancy is at least over!
Life is intense, but still "practically perfect in every way."
Hope you continue to do well,
Dorothea W.
