Some Good News

Jodi just got up for a bathroom break. For the first time since the surgery last Wednesday she did not have spinal fluid draining from her nose. This is good news and is cause for hope. Again, the doctors want her to go for two full days with no evidence of spinal fluid leaking to be assured the hole has sealed over.

So many of you have made comments and called and emailed just since the update on the blog two hours ago. It is amazing and wonderful! You really are life savers!

Jodi, As I hear two more days... it literally brings me to tears. I will continue praying that you will continue to heal on your own. What a blessing! I so want you to be able to go home and recover. I wish I could lay there two more days for you. I really do. I am thinking about you. -Wendie

"When in situations of stress we wonder if there is any more in us to give, we can be comforted to know that God, who knows our capacity perfectly, placed us here to succeed. No one was foreordained to fail...When we have been weighed and found wanting, let us remember that we were measured before and we were found equal to our tasks; and, therefore, let us continue, but with a more determined discipleship. When we feel overwhelmed, let us recall the assurance that God will not over program us; he will not press upon us more than we can bear." – Neal A. Maxwell, Speeches of the Year, 1978, p. 156

We all know Jodi is giving everything she can. Hopefully all of us can be equally brave and faithful as we petition blessings on her behalf. Much love and God bless.

Jodi, hang in there! It's going to get better. I know Heavenly Father hears you and is with you. He hears our prayers. You are on my mind all day long, every day, and in my prayers. It's funny, we haven't talked in so long and yet, I still feel this deep connection and profound love for you. I look forward to visiting you when you're out of the hospital. Liu

Sincere prayers are being said in our little corner of the earth here in Southern California. May you feel the Savior's arms around you as you go through this process.

Jodi - so glad to hear a little good news - the power of prayer truly inspirational. A little thought for you "Angels are spiritual energy" ...know that all your friends and loved ones are your true angels bringing you spiritual energy! Keeping you in my thoughts.

Von's comment earlier about Trenden wanting to fast for his mom just brought tears to my eyes. What a testament to the example his parents have been to him! Hang in there Jodi...you know the saying..."I didn't say it would be easy...I only said it would be worth it." Heaven knows this hasn't been easy for you...but I'm hoping the end result will be the result we've all been praying for. You've got 'tough genes' in you....since you are Grandma B's grandaughter! I watched her suffer through more pain I thought bearable, and yet, she endured. You can do it too! Hang in there. We love you!

Love from your cuz, Karen

Dear Sweet Jodi,
It has been so hard for me not to run over to the hospital to hug you and your parents. I have spent the week praying for Heavenly Father to bless and comfort you all. Your example of thinking of others through all of this is amazing to me - what a woman of strength you are!
I am grateful you've had a reprieve today and pray it will be better from here on out now.
I know if Mom & Dad could, they would do anything to take this from you and I pray for them as well.
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers daily.
Love you all,
Kathy Skene & family
