Dr. Orlandi just came out and spoke to us. He said the operation was more difficult than normal because her septum was a bit crooked and he had to straighten that out before he could do the procedure - meaning she will be extra sore. But he felt like the procedure went well and she will most likely be leak free at this point. He said it’s possible she could spring a leak soon or in the weeks ahead, but unlikely. In spite of the fact that Jodi has defied all odds to date we’re hoping she won’t defy the odds this time! If she recovers well and there is no sign of leaking she should be able to go home in a day or two.

Thanks for the update. Hoping and praying for the best! They need to get you back home where you belong. You're due to catch a break this time, right? Much love, Diane
Jodi has given me a new consciousness that allows me to accommodate, with faith, that which must be, and even to embrace it!
All of the unthinkable things had to be...
woven into the great plan...
"Lift up your heart, and be glad; and look..."
Changing my view of life - the poet Alexander Pope wrote:
All Nature is but Art, unknown to thee:
All Chance, Direction, which thou canst not see:
All Discord, Harmony, not understood;
All partial Evil, universal Good:
And, spirit of Pride, in erring Reason's spite,
One truth is clear, "WHATEVER IS, IS RIGHT."
So, I look with eyes of greater awareness knowing God is connecting all, blessing all, in conscious, ceaseless divine activity.
I trust your precious family is in the hands of God.

WOw alot has changed and happened since the last time I was able to check this blog a few days ago. I am glad to the surgery went well and I hope this is the final fix, and everything starts improving from this point on. I have been thinking about you continously Jodi, amist all the moving and craziness we have had over the last several days. I hope to be able to talk to you soon and find that all is well (and hopefully you are home). Love to you and hang in there my dear friend!!
Wow . . . this girl needs a break at this point! Hopefully this last procedure will do the trick. Glad to hear that you had access to such an incredible specialist to help preserve some of her hearing. We continue to hope and pray that her recovery will be quick.

Jodi,
You truly do amaze me! Just continue to take one day at a time-doing the best you can. I hope this is your last major hurdle you have to endure and that recovery will come quickly. And just as a reminder in case you have forgotten...I love you!!!

Wow. I have not been able to get on my computer because of the monitor not working, but Austin B. fixed me up so I can see how you are. I'm glad the air on the brain is no longer a concern (if I read the blog right.) Also, I'm glad you have gotten over the final hurdles before returning home and that the surgery went well. Keep us posted on the recovery and homecoming. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Love, Wendy T.

Dear Jodi and Tolan:
First of all, what a miracle that you have been blessed with the incredible doctors who have taken care of you!!! Tolan, it was so so good to see you on Saturday as we watched the Thunderbirds! I know that your children hardly know us, but I just felt the need to hug you and your oldest son. Hopefully soon we can get to know all of your children better!!! We are just a couple of "old folks" who live across the street!!!!
Jodi, I know that you have had so many challenges to face, but you ARE going to be successful at beating all odds!!! Please know that our heart and arms have been around you in spirit, and as soon as you get home, we will embrace you for real!!!! We wish for you a god speed recovery and hope to see you before weeks end!!! Much love to all of you!!! Cindy and Mark Taylor
Praying, praying and more praying.

Let's pray the worst is behind you!! Annette said in spite of everything you are still your self and could just chat the time away! You truly are AMAZING! Not many people given the circumstances would be so optimistic and remarkable as you. We hope to see your smiling face very soon
Much Love!!
Jodi,
I have been praying for you day and night. I don't know why you were given this trial and tribulation, but I know you are an incredibly courageous person. It may seem like a small consolation at this point, but what a tremendous blessing that Dr. Orlandi worked at this hospital and could perform this complex procedure on you. I hope and pray for you to heal, that you may be with your kids soon. Thinking of you! Liu
Hang in there Jodi. I fly to Utah tomorrow and can't wait to come visit! Hopefully things luck good from here on out.
Jodi, you have been through so much. I wanted to let you know that my 8 year old daughter offered THE SWEETEST prayer for you this evening. It brought tears to my eyes. I know you are being blessed even though it may not seem like it right now. You are an amazing woman of strength. We send all our love to you and your family this night.
Hang in there...

Quietly, in the background, if all is still, you can hear it. It is not loud, not obvious. In order to herar you have to strain, you have to pay attention, but when you do hear, it is beautiful, it is a calming, refreshing melody. A song to the heart. Sheree
You don't know me - but we have connections. Karen McGee is my friend from a long time ago and my husband is a professor at BYUH. I just want you to know that our family is praying for you too! I have 4 children as well - and I have been holding onto them a little tighter lately. The Lord bless you and keep you!

Wow Kid, so glad that you may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I was glad to hear of the special procedure that only your doctor does that my preserve part of your hearing in your right ear, that is great news. I have often wondered what it would be like to lay flat on my back for say 6 days and not move my head! That must have been nearly as bad as the surgeries and so miserable for one normally so active. We fasted for you last Sunday and continue to pray for your recovery and for your return to something close to "normal". We are thinking about you and your family ofter and the blog has been so great to keep up with your roller-coaster ride. Tolan has been such a champ through all of this, Do you remember the care giver conferences we use to have? Thanks Tolan for all you have done to care for Jodi, I know is has been extremely difficlult for you as well and we pray for you and the kids daily as well. Sending best wishes and lots of love and support. Joey and family.
